Feed The Man Steak - Neil Perry at Crown Casino

The builders are moving in to create the splashiest most glamorous steakhouse ever at Melbourne’s gambling hub, Crown Casino. Just in time for Melbourne Cup, the project is being sponsored by billionaire James Packer’s company PBL.  Neil Perry -the man with the restaurant trade’s most famous ponytail, is sending one of his best chefs from his signature eatery Rockpool to cook there. As one rival restaurateur commented - “it’s going to be much better than any kind of steakhouse you might find in Las Vegas'’. Hmm, I wonder how ordering a hugely unfashionable medium to well done steak will go down. Will I be told to leave?
Meanwhile celebrity rock group Coldplay were missing in action last night in Sydney. They were expected at Catalina at a dinner for 80 hosted by the one and only Chuggster - Michael Chugg but at the last minute they decided it was all too hard. Chuggster was left with just 40 at Catalina which would still be a massive bill by anyone’s standards.
