The big drawcard was that it was the first major soiree in Sydney’s svelte new eatery - the Kirketon Dining Room and Bar. Everyone wanted to check it out almost as much as certain local chefs wanted to pay homage to Vogue Entertaining - where a glossy spread still works wonders. Among those who turned up was the ever dishy Andrea Mellis and Tetsuya Wakada - (who has people lingering in his restaurant so long with that myriad of tiny courses that they almost move in). Afterwards a lot of the gang moved on to Bucha.

It takes a lot to get serious television celebs out to Sydney’s Baulkham Hills - let’s just say that it is not situated in the social set’ epicentre. However Tuesday night’s party following the live taping of T&DDOI was the coolest ticket in town - in more ways than one, of course..Among those who fronted was former Nine boss David Gyngell, current Nine supremo, Eddie McGuire and Nova radio hound Merrick Watts.

“I’m not going to the opening of a shop,'’ declared fellow gossip , `Andie‘ aka Big Baad Beeatch, who stamped his foot so fiercely, my phone went into involuntary spasm. Well, doll, you so missed out. Tonight’s Breil shop opening had it all. Not only was star chef and new dad of two, Peter Evans (much cuter than his Elle’ lovin brother, actually), dishing up the food but the tiny QVB shop was awash with celebutantes including Ada Nicodemou with everyone favourite TV stylist, Kelly Smythe, Holly Brisley and Ali Mutch (who should be nicknamed Ali almost too much judging by that Pammy Anderson’ cleavage). There was Olympic swimmer Elka Graham, the divine fashion icon, Jane Roarty and pretty radio gal, Lizzy Lovette. The only question of the night was where to head for next?.

Just a few days after he aired his Metropolis Collection in coolest Melbourne, Stefano Canturi was at it again in Sydney with his wife, Patricia by his side. He was showing off some of the jewels he created for the Superman Returns movie. He is now officially jeweller to the stars since he also fashioned that $1 million diamond necklace in Moulin Rouge. The couple was also celebrating a milestone - 20 years in the glittering heart Sydney’s designer belt.
The question is - which guests looked more exciting, those at his Melbourne party or the fab set at his Sydney soiree?

It’s one of the juciest stories doing the rounds of the CBD at present and has elements of justice and revenge. It concerns a high profile businessman who had one of his former mate’s fathers thrown out of his office by security after the dad berated him for not helping to rescue his son from a tricky financial situation. However the bizoid has no desire to help out, having blamed the former mate for much of his family’s ills…

There is such a buzz about Eve that even the fabled entertainer Kamahl slipped out of his Camilla’ kaftan to make the trek down South to see what all the fuss was about. He was among the adorable Nick Russian’s VIP guests there on Saturday night. As soon as Kamahl returns to town, I will give him a call and ask him what all the fuss is about as there is a lot of Sydneysiders interested in the Eve experience.
